  Home and Business Decorating Competitions

Back by popular demand the 1930s Country Christmas Welcome competition is open to residents of Spencerville proper who want to aim for the best decorated home or business.
 
$450 in prizes to be won.

Rules

Open to residents along County Road 21 from Highway 416, exit 12, to and along County Road 44 to Goodin Street and within the Village of Spencerville to Home Hardware (roughly the area shown in the map below).

No entry fee is required, but to be judged you must register by Wednesday November 30, 2011

Decorations should reflect the theme "1930s Christmas Welcome" and be made using fresh evergreen, natural materials, fabric, paint and other appropriate materials. No modern plastic decorations are to be used, but white and multi-coloured lights are permitted to add a welcome sparkle to your entry.


_Please register by Wednesday, November 30, 2011
           Judging will be done between 3:00 and 6:30 pm December 1 to accommodate entries with and without lights.

CCR will announce winners and present prizes during the Official Opening festivities on Friday December 2 at 6:30 pm in the Village Square. Each winner will be provided with a "Winner - Home/Business Decorating Competition" sign to post on their property. These signs will be collected after the weekend event.

Categories

Home Competition

CCR will present the winner in the following three categories with  a prize of $100:
  • Best Traditional Home
  • Yard Display - must include decorated tree
  • Most Welcoming Decorated Door

Business Competition


CCR will present the winner in the following two categories with  a prize of $75:
  • Best Traditional Storefront
  • Most Welcoming Decorated Door
